BRIAN'S STORY

image1.jpeg
Do the right thing in all cases, at all times, no matter what.

Thank you for your interest in Brian’s campaign. Brian has devoted his career to pursuing justice and improving lives and running for District Attorney is the next step in that journey.

Brian was born in a military hospital in Germany, where his parents were stationed in the United States Air Force. They returned to Colorado when he was two years old and he grew up in Aurora with his twin brother, Jeff. Later on, his family moved across town to Littleton and he graduated from Heritage High School. Brian attended Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, and earned a degree in political science. After college, he moved to Washington, DC, where he served as an aide in the White House during the last three years of the Clinton Administration. Following his service in the Clinton White House, Brian worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant, press secretary and chief of staff to a senior member of Congress. Brian then received a prestigious fellowship from the Robert Bosch Foundation to work as an American Fellow in the German Foreign Ministry and the German Parliament in Berlin, Germany.

Although he loved working on federal policy at the White House and the United States Congress, Brian moved home to Colorado because he wanted to make a concrete difference in his own community. Brian attended the University of Colorado Law School, where he earned his law degree and served as campus leader. In 2006, then District Attorney Don Quick recruited Brian to join the District Attorney’s Office as a deputy district attorney and he has worked there ever since. During his more than thirteen years at the DA’s office, Brian has risen through the leadership ranks and is now a Chief Trial Deputy, supervising 30 attorneys and overseeing the prosecution of the office’s felony cases. Brian has personally prosecuted thousands of cases, including over 100 jury trials, and has helped bring justice to victims of crime from all over our community.

Brian’s motto as your next District Attorney is straightforward: “Do the right thing. In all cases. At all times. No matter what.” Brian will make community safety his top priority. He will fight for the most vulnerable in our society, especially victims of violent crime, sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking. Brian will seek to make our criminal justice system better by expanding our diversion program, investing in specialty courts and seeking sentences that are consistent with fairness and justice. Brian will collaborate with law enforcement agencies and community partners to prevent crime before it happens. Finally, Brian will be a leader of integrity for our community and our state.

Brian and his wife, Fernanda, love Adams and Broomfield counties and are proud to be raising their family here. Brian is a servant-leader and will be a leader of integrity for the District Attorney’s Office. Please join this campaign and help us elect Brian Mason as our next District Attorney!
